About Us

Traditional carriage craft from Füzesgyarmat — handmade, durable, with a modern approach.

Our Story

The tradition of carriage making continues in our workshop. Master Sándor Galambos learned the craft from József Szécsi at the local vehicle manufacturing and repair cooperative, and opened his own workshop in the early 1980s.

In 2002 we moved to a modern site with dedicated forging, woodworking and finishing sections, providing a professional background for complex projects.

How We Work – Approach and Method

Handcraft for us is not merely tradition: it is a guarantee of precision, durability and serviceability. Every project begins with understanding your specific requirements.

  1. Purpose & context

Ceremonial, sport, training or tourism use; terrain and load taken into account.

  2. Engineering

Frame geometry, suspension (e.g. leaf springs, comfort refinements), brakes (mechanical/hydraulic), weight distribution and stiffness.

  3. Aesthetics & comfort

Upholstery, lacquer, decorative details, seating layout, lighting and practical storage solutions.

We align structural and aesthetic decisions so that handling, comfort and appearance match the intended use.

Materials & Techniques – Attention to Detail

  • Frame & running gear: Corrosion-protected steel frame, precise joints, inspected welds.
  • Suspension & brakes: Systems selected for the required comfort and control; fine-tuned as part of the final inspection and checks.
  • Wood: Selected, dried timber for wheels, floors and body panels; tight joints and careful sanding.
  • Finishing: Multi-layer lacquer/paint for durability and deep gloss; hand polishing at the end.
  • Upholstery: Durable materials, decorative stitching, comfortable padding — in both classic and clean, modern styles.
  • Hardware & lamps: Long-lasting metal fittings; period-correct details on request.

Quality & Checks

  • Checklists at each major stage (frame, running gear, brakes, electrics and lighting, upholstery, finishing).
  • Final functional and safety checks with adjustments before handover.
  • Optional care guide (cleaning, lubrication, storage, periodic checks).

Family Workshop – Continuity of Skill and Style

We operate as a family business. The younger generation is active in both new builds and restorations, ensuring that traditional skills and a sense of style are preserved and adapted to modern needs.
